Emotion recognition: Facetracker Addon

One of our concepts is data extraction from people. One of the data inputs will be emotion. When Ellie tracks an emotion from a person, Ellie’s mood will change. For our proof of concept the color is changed depending on her mood. Based on a brief research about emotion and a research of Disney Pixar’s movie Inside out, we divided the primary emotions and linked these to colors.

The technique behind this emotion tracker is an OpenFrameworks addon: Facetracking. With this emotion tracker you can create your own expression which the program will recognize. In the future it could be possible that Ellie learns new expressions on her own. For our proof of concept we only track five emotions we programmed.
